You may be used to dealing with challenges in your life on your own, but everyone goes through times where they need extra support. If you have been struggling and haven’t been able to get through it alone this time, or friends and family haven’t been the right kind of support, counseling can help. Counseling provides the tools you need to get through the moment as well as difficult situations in the future. 

It may feel intimidating to book a counseling appointment for the first time. You don’t know what to expect, but you know you’re not happy with the way you've been feeling and you’re ready to reach out for help. The first session typically involves discussing confidentiality, establishing what the counseling relationship will look like, and setting goals based on your individual situation. Following sessions are used to go more in depth with what is bothering you, monitor progress toward goals, and learn the skills you need to move forward.

As each client is unique, so are their goals in counseling. Some clients are happy with very brief counseling and only attend a handful of sessions, and some choose to attend counseling for much longer periods of time. As we develop your goals, we will talk about length of treatment and what to expect.
